The race, with the most beautiful views of sea and mountain runs through the center of Hermanus!
Participants : People with disabilities in wheelchairs and able-bodied athletes (runners).
You may enter in ONE of the following categories

Fun Walk : 5 km. Entries : The public is welcome to walk, wheel or push a friend on wheels. Anything with wheels that needs to be pushed. No self-propelled devices.
Wheelchairs, children’s buggies or strollers, trolleys, homemade chariots, floats etc.
Open to all members of the public. Assistants will be allowed to push wheelchairs or any other “vehicle” with wheels or push yourself!
Businesses are invited to enter and advertise their business with logos or to build a float that will best depict their service or business.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Pre-entries for the race categories will close at 17:00 on 4th May 2010.
- Entries for the Fun Walk will not close early and will be accepted on the day of the race. Entry fee for the Fun Walk will remain R40.
- Late entries for all the race categories will be taken until 18:00 on 7th May 2010 during pre-registration in Hermanus, but will cost R60-00 [late penalty of R20]. T-shirts and medals will not be guaranteed.
- Later line entries, also at R60, will be accepted on the day of the race, but t-shirts and medals will not be guaranteed. Please note that all “Later” line entrants will not be eligible for any podium positions, awards or prize-money.
- Pre-registration will take place on Friday 7 th May from 17h00 – 19h00 at the Hermanus municipality in Harmony lane.

All the winners must be present at the Prize-giving event to qualify for the prizes.

RULES
1. The Race is organized in accordance with the rules of Athletics South Africa and Boland Athletics.
2. Traffic officials and marshals must be obeyed at all times, failing which, disqualification may follow.
3. Refreshment tables will be available.
4. No seconding from a moving vehicle or bicycle will be permitted.
5. Every 5 kilometre will be marked.
6. Results will be available on the website.
7. Athletes enter entirely at their own risk; Organizers and Sponsors are not responsible for any loss, damage or injury to participants.
8. Proof of age is required for category prizes.
9. No advertising of any form will be permitted to be displayed by athletes other than that of the official race shirt or the event race number.
10. The entry fee is non-refundable.
11. Temporary license is included in the entry fee
12. “Later” line entries on the day of the race will not be eligible for any podium positions, awards or prize-money.
Route Information :
The race organisers were requested by the municipality to move the route away from the usual area in the central business district this year due to extensive road works.
The Start/Finish venue is in 17 th Avenue, Voëlklip opposite the De Mond caravan park.
KEEP LEFT, PASS RIGHT : Athletes are requested to stay on the left side of their lane to allow others to pass on the right side.
Route 1: Marathon, half-marathon, 10 km and 6 km races.
The route will run in the main road of Hermanus between Voëlklip and Eastcliff.
There are two gradual uphill sections of 1,1 km and 1,4 km and a level section of 5 km in the loop. We thought it might be interesting for you to have a challenge this year!

Route 2: Fun Walk, 1,3 km and 5km races.
The route will run through a small section of Voëlklip and then on to Grotto beach along the sea. This route is mostly level with one small uphill section. Assistance will be provided at the hill if necessary for all athletes.
Water points will be supplied as well as First aid services and Repair services.
A medical doctor and ambulance will be on standby.
